The volume showcases the interdisciplinary work of the Learning, Education and Active Ageing (LEAA) Scientific Committee, developed within the National Age-It Program.
The goal of LEAA is to build a pedagogy of ageing based on an integrated vision – educational, social, psychological, and health-related –beyond the traditional concept of active ageing through emphasizing the role of learning across the lifespan.
The volume is structured around three main pillars: the connection between research and local communities, intergenerational dialogue, and effective educational and training practices for adulthood and old age. It thus offers a theoretical and practical contribution toward a new culture of longevity, where education becomes a driver of well-being, inclusion, and social cohesion.
