This paper offers a series of reflections and intervention strategies aimed at identifying the needs of families navigating the ‘ageing process’ and responding to these needs with increasing competence. Adopting a specific relational-symbolic perspective on family and social bonds, it proposes the application of the Percorsi di Enrichment Familiare (PEF®) method for families with elderly members, as a form of preventive and promotional family intervention. Within this theoretical and methodological framework, two case studies will be presented, focusing on the support and accompaniment of caregivers of older adults. These were implemented as part of the “Ben-Essere Anziani” project, carried out within accredited family counselling centres managed by the Fondazione Fare Famiglia – Onlus in the Milan metropolitan area, under the initiative “Sperimentazione Centri per la Famiglia” promoted by the Lombardy Region.
