The INDACO and AGEMIL research studies explore the role of intergenerational learning as a key strategy to address the ageing workforce and digital transformation. INDACO data highlight a growing adoption of intergenerational practices in Italian companies, with an increase in knowledge transfer following the pandemic. The AGEMIL research analyzes age management practices in both the public and private sectors, emphasizing the importance of continuous training strategies and intergenerational collaboration to improve inclusivity and organizational well-being. The findings show the need for structured management models, the central role of mentoring and coaching, and the potential of digital tools to enhance intergenerational learning. To ensure a resilient and inclusive work environment, active policies, economic incentives, and a cultural shift that values seniority and innovation are crucial – promoting sustainable growth and the employability of workers over 50 in an evolving labour market.
