The volume collects 27 papers written between 2003 and 2022, which have appeared in different publications (such as Proceedings of International Conferences, Collections in Honor of several scholars, and journals of classical philology). All have been revised and updated, and the bibliography has been unified. Eighteen are in Italian, while five are in English, three in Spanish, and one in French, since they were originally presented at conferences abroad. They deal especially with the dialogue Bruta animalia ratione uti, the Quaestiones convivales, Plutarch’s quotations from Menander and Euripides, his Lives of Romulus and Theseus, the Consolation to his Wife, and the Erotikós. Different interpretative problems, as well as several textual questions, are tackled. Finally, several significant clarifications about Plutarch’s family, mainly concerning his children, wife, and in-laws, are attained.
