This paper was written in English for a conference in Leuven. Problems 3, 4, and 5 of the III book of QC resume the discussions that arose during one and the same sym¬posium. The 3rd question, raised by Florus (why women scarcely get drunk, whereas old men do so very quickly?), was rapidly solved by Sulla. But Apollonides immediately raised the 4th one: are women, by nature, colder or hotter than men? It was an old problem, discussed even in some Aristotelian works. The solution proposed by a certain Athryitus was sternly refuted by Florus, who completely reversed the latter’s argumenta¬tions. Nevertheless, Florus’ remarks are not to be taken too seriously and sounds rather jocular. It is a typical example of discussions held at a drinking party. At the end, the paper deals with two little textual problems.
