The “Premio Tesi di Dottorato Città di Firenze” series originates from the fusion of two prestigious awards, the “Premio FUP Tesi di Dottorato” and “Premio Ricerca Città di Firenze”. It publishes the six best doctoral theses defended at the University of Florence, showcasing the excellence of young researchers’ work. Five prizes are awarded in the main scientific and disciplinary areas (biomedical sciences, humanities and education, social sciences, natural sciences, and technology), while a sixth prize is dedicated to the memory of Lucrezia Borghi, Valentina Gallo, and Elena Maestrini, students of the University of Florence who tragically lost their lives in 2016 during an Erasmus stay in Spain.
All books published in the series undergo peer review.
The series fully supports Open Access publishing as an ideal tool for sharing ideas and knowledge in every research field with an open, collaborative and non-profit approach. Open Access books allow the research community to achieve a high research impact as well as rapid dissemination in any editorial form.
