Valerie M. Vaughn is an Assistant Professor of medicine in the Division of Hospital Medicine at the University of Michigan and a Research Scientist at the VA Ann Arbor Healthcare System. Her main research interests include antimicrobial stewardship and quality of care.
Sanjay Saint is Chief of Medicine at the VA Ann Arbor Healthcare System, George Dock Professor of Internal Medicine at the University of MI, and Director of the VA/University of MI Patient Safety Enhancement Project. His research focuses on patient safety, leadership, and medical decision-making.
Alessandro Bartoloni is Professor of Infectious Diseases at the University of Florence and Director of the Infectious and Tropical Disease Unit of Careggi University Hospital in Florence. His research focuses mainly on tropical diseases and antibiotic use and resistance with special attention to low-middle income countries.
Alessandra Petrucci is Professor of social statistics and rector of the University of Florence. Her research activity mainly takes place in the field of social statistics with particular attention to the analysis of student mobility, social indicators of well-being and the integration of social data with environmental and territorial data for the sustainable development.
Betti Giusti is Professor of Clinical Pathology at the University of Florence. She is President of the School of Human Health Sciences of the same university. Her research focuses on pathophysiology and genetic bases of atherothrombotic diseases, vascular diseases, hereditary connective tissue disorders and pharmacogenetic.
Francesco Annunziato is Professor of General Pathology at the University of Florence and director of the Experimental and Clinical Medicine of the same university. Director of the Diagnostic Center for flow cytometry and immunotherapy at Careggi University Hospital in Florence. His research activity focuses on basic and clinical immunology.
Donatella Lippi is Professor of History of medicine at the University of Florence. She is the Rector's delegate for the development and coordination of cultural events and collaboration with the press office for external activities and the representation of the University at the Regional Committee for the historical-artistic, cultural and scientific heritage of healthcare companies.
Daniela Matarrese is General Manager of the Azienda Ospedaliero Universitaria Careggi (Florence). She has experience in strategic management of the healthcare authorities of the Tuscany Region. She is expert in strategic and operational planning in the healthcare sector and in management control tools, techniques and methods.
