The Long Journey of Aristoteles Latinus to Kyiv

  • Mykola Fediai

The chapter reconstructs the intellectual history of Kyiv from the Christianization of Rus to the early 17th century, viewed within its position between Byzantium and the Latin West. It argues that the limits of Greek–Slavonic learning gradually encouraged a turn toward Latin models, bringing Aristotle to Kyiv in his Latin tradition.
