Le Xe siècle vu du monde scandinave: les enjeux d’un monde contrasté et marqué par l’oralité

  • Lucie Malbos

Despite the complexity of approaching Scandinavian history in a monolithic way, this article provides an overall review of the 1970-1990 decades, which are highly focused on the political construction of the Danish kingdoms, and to a lesser extent, the Norwegian and Swedish ones. The 1990-2000 period, by embracing social and connected history, subsequently helps to reposition Scandinavia within a broader European context, a trend inherited by current research. This research draws on methods such as network analysis and addresses issues that resonate with contemporary concerns (such as the definition of social identities and the relationship between humans and their environment).
