Gli orizzonti della ricerca: status quaestionis e strumenti concettuali

  • Andrea Apollonio

This chapter reviews the theoretical and empirical horizons that frame the research. It explores the relationship between the “EU crisis” and the Union’s narrative turn, defining political narratives from both political and sociological perspectives, particularly within the sociology of European integration. The chapter also examines the field of collective memory studies, introducing the analytical distinction between institutional historical memory and memory activism, proposing the concept of intra-institutional memory activism to capture internal institutional dynamics of negotiation, marginalization and selection of narratives of remembrance.
