This volume synthesizes key foundations of pedagogical and educational research within Italian hospital school settings. Drawing on a case study of the hospital school at the university hospital “Azienda Ospedaliera Universitaria Meyer” (AOU Meyer), it emphasizes the necessity of promoting the role of the pedagogist within hospital contexts in order to develop an extensive relational network capable of addressing the needs and requirements of hospitalized children and their families. The future commitment of Hospital Schooling and Home Education lies in consolidating these services as authoritative points of reference not only for medical care but also for relational and communicative support in contexts characterized by educational, social, and health-related vulnerability.
