This study reconstructs the lost fresco cycles of the Golden (Middle) and Transitional Chambers in the Moscow Kremlin, attributing their execution (c. 1514) to Feodossy and Dmitry, sons of the painter Dionisius. Relying on Simon Ushakov’s 1672 inventory, the author analyzes these decorations as part of the state-building project of Ivan III and Vasily III, designed to articulate a new visual language of sovereign power. The article demonstrates that the frescoes structurally mirrored Italian Renaissance secular models—akin to the Sala dei Mesi inthe Palazzo Schifanoia in Ferrara—utilizing a tri-partite registry system. Keywords: Kremlin Palace, Golden Chamber, iconography of the Holy Wisdom, Renaissance Iconography, Russian-Italian Contacts.
