The volume offers an analysis of the relationship between the phenomenon of fashion and gender, the dress as protection of the body and an expression of identity, the evolution of styles, decorative motifs and materials through the lens of both anonymous and declaimed collections by best known stylists. This volume underlines the continuity between past and present as a premise for the development of fashion and design products. Fashion and design are, in fact, two worlds that continually contaminate each other and which, thanks to their synergy, are able to create a strong communicative capacity. They can so define forms, languages and expressive codes identifying an era.
