Contemporary societies are currently undergoing a period of rapid transformation: forms of social organisation are being redefined, social ties are becoming more complex, and identities are fragmenting only to be recomposed again. Understanding these dynamics requires sound theoretical tools, coupled with a constant focus on the everyday practices, meanings, emotions, and habits of the social actors involved.
Launched in the wake of the Class A journal Cambio (Firenze University Press), this series combines theoretical analysis with empirical research, fostering an ongoing dialogue between sociology and the other social sciences such as anthropology, history, and political science. The project aims to interpret a society in constant flux, exploring the influence of physical and relational environments through a process-oriented lens, one that is attentive to the tensions between structure and action, reproduction, and innovation.
The series, comprising essays, monographs, translations and educational works, is designed for academics, students, social workers, and members of the public who seek to analyse the present through a critical lens.
Authors are cordially invited to submit proposals and/or full manuscripts to the series editor, angela.perulli@unifi.it.
All books published in the series undergo peer review.
