This paper explores how medieval actors managed risks and crises, highlighting the diversity of institutional responses and the integration of conflict into economic life. It argues that risk management did not erase crises but shaped their perception and resolution. By examining judicial pluralism, negotiation strategies, and the interplay between risk and crisis, the study offers new insights into the economic and social dynamics of late medieval and early modern Europe.
