Collaboration between the University of Florence’s RF and Electromagnetics Laboratory and Nuovo Pignone (later part of Baker Hughes/GE) focused on electromagnetic compatibility and advanced sensing in industrial environments. Research addressed signal conditioning and the feasibility of wireless SAW sensors for monitoring temperature and strain inside gas turbines, overcoming harsh conditions such as high temperatures, vibrations, and strong electromagnetic interference.
