The chapter “Materials Science and Engineering Innovation” explores the strategic role of materials research in the Department’s technological development. Through studies on metallic, polymeric, and composite materials, nanostructures, and surface treatments, it examines the relationships between structure, properties, and performance. The integration of experimental characterization, modeling, and industrial applications enables the development of innovative solutions for energy, advanced manufacturing, mobility, and sustainability, strengthening the link between fundamental research and technology transfer.
