The history of engineering education in Florence developed alongside the Order of Engineers, both emerging in the early 20th century. The University introduced engineering preparatory courses in 1924, with notable figures such as Enrico Fermi. Over time, strong collaboration grew between the School of Engineering and the Order through professional exams, joint events, and awards supporting engineering education and professional development.
