The study examines Costanzo De Petris’s altar in Sant’Agnese in Agone, Rome (1663–65), focusing on its ‘accelerated perspective’ and foreshortened marble vault. The work reveals the transfer of Baroque quadratura principles to sculpture and their role in shaping illusionistic space.
