The chapter traces 17th-century utopian imagination through fantastic voyages and early feminist visions. Cyrano de Bergerac's lunar world inverts earthly social norms through science and poetry. Meanwhile, de Scudéry's Carte du Pays de Tendre and Cavendish's Blazing World assert women's utopian agency, grounding ideal societies in emotion, freedom and female governance — prefiguring later feminist and romantic thought.
