The Ultrasound and Non-Destructive Testing Laboratory at the University of Florence, founded in 1974, has developed applied research in collaboration with high-tech companies, especially in the aerospace sector. Its work includes monitoring electrical discharges in space electronics, ultrasonic diagnostics, and the development of piezoelectric sensors and guided-wave devices for structural health monitoring of composite materials.
