The doctoral research project focuses on cultural heritage in the Italian context, investigating the correlation between cultural heritage preservation and the ecological transition, emphasizing open knowledge, sustainability and citizen science. Through an interdisciplinary approach the project aims at developing an in-depth case study focused on a museum system and its repository. The study aims at analysing poly-material artefacts through multidisciplinary methodologies in a sustainable context, reaching the goal of the research by means of monitoring biotic and abiotic environmental parameters. Wikimedia infrastructures and communities play a pivotal role in ensuring the accessibility and dissemination of research findings through Open Access and free licensing practices.
