The transcription and critical edition of the seventh Liber doctorum of the University of Siena (1579-1588) presents a notarial register recording doctoral conferments in law, theology, arts, and medicine. Through the editorial reconstruction of the source, the text documents the institutional procedures, ceremonial practices, and documentary formulas regulating academic promotions in the late sixteenth century. Particular attention is devoted to approval formulas, examination structures, notarial language, and the interaction between ecclesiastical, civic, and academic authorities within the graduation ritual. The register also constitutes a valuable prosopographical source for tracing student mobility, social networks, and the geographical composition of the Studium across Tuscany, the Italian peninsula, and several European regions.
