A Data Visualization Tool for Heritage Buildings in India and Bangladesh: The Project of a MediaWiki-based Platform for ID-SCAPES

  • Giuseppe Resta
  • Sidh Losa Mendiratta
  • Tiago Trindade Cruz

The ID-SCAPES research project studies medieval and early modern religious architecture of Christian minorities in India and Bangladesh, often representing contested heritage. A key output will be Herichurch, a MediaWiki-based platform designed to present historical entries on significant churches, making information accessible to a broader audience. The Wiki will integrate texts, photographs, 3D visualizations, and drawings for effective cultural heritage dissemination. Drawing lessons from successful case studies, Herichurch Wiki intends to explore the connection between a MediaWiki encyclopaedia and a structured database to produce accurate and accessible content about heritage buildings.
