A Critical Reflection on the Need or Not for Immigration in the Care Sector: Mechanisms at the Disposal of the European Union

  • Ferran Camas Roda
  • Andrea Cano Redondo

At the level of the European Union; important debates are taking place on the need; or not; to attract immigrants to the care sector. This paper aims to highlight these reflections and detect the extent to which the arguments that confirm a situation of personnel crisis in the care sector are well-founded and; in this sense; the need to face this crisis with the attraction of migrants. The article will mention those proposals from the European Union that could be useful as pathways for immigrants to access the care sector.
