The book shows how the Six Sigma methodological approach can be used to provide an effective solution to a problem deeply felt by Small and Medium Enterprises: the frequent under-capitalisation linked to short-term investments, often financed with bank loans. The Six Sigma methodology allows to tackle the problem by analysing both the payments that companies must receive and the possible financing conditions in an analytical and statistical way, proposing solutions to optimise these processes and improve the financial performance of an SME. In this sense, the work is presented as a methodological analysis essay and, at the same time, as an operational tool for entrepreneurial realities.

Prof. Cristiano Ciappei is full professor of Strategy and Business Value at the Faculty of Economics of the University of Florence and substitute on the subjects of quality of services and quality of processes in the degree course of Economics and Quality Management. He is currently involved in the study of entrepreneurial governance, product innovation, fashion and strategy evaluation. Prof. Ing. Paolo Citti, Professor of Design and Construction of Machines at the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Florence, has been dealing with problems relating to the reliability, quality and control of management, production and design processes for over 30 years. He is President of the Italian Accademia Italiana del Sei Sigma (Italian Six Sigma Academy). Ing. Gianni Campatelli, researcher of Technologies and Processing Systems, he is currently involved in the optimisation of mechanical production and artificial vision, Master Black Belt Sei Sigma. Niccolò Bacci has graduated in Business Management from the Faculty of Economics of the University of Florence and Green Belt Sei Sigma. He is interested in the Corporate Finance field and is currently involved in auditing of financial statements and assistance in stock exchange listing at the consultancy company Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu.
