Hospital schooling represents a distinctive educational service for hospitalized students, characterized by delivery methods and teacher-student relationships different from traditional schools. Initially an episodic initiative, it has gradually become integrated into major pediatric hospitals to ensure equal opportunities, skill development, and school reintegration. The service is based on an integrated educational model that considers students’ physical, emotional, and psychological conditions, promoting well-being and personal growth. Hospital schooling is closely linked to the rights to education and health, supporting educational continuity and the preservation of children’s identity during hospitalization. The educational offer also includes home-based instruction, with an inclusive and personalized approach that fosters social and cultural integration, supporting both the students’ educational and therapeutic pathways.
