The essay is dedicated to the presentation of a Database TespaTrad, based on open code and access technology, which has the goal of collecting translations of classical Spanish theater from the 17th century to the present. Its coordinators, Marco Presotto and Salomé Vuelta García, have started from a reflection on the concept of theatrical translation and its evolution over the centuryes as well as a necessary delimitation of the wide variety of textual typologies present. This has led them to formulate a file model that, together with the standard bibliographic record, contains a section that includes several additional data focused on the formal model and the typology of translation. The current results, despite being partial, already provide very interesting data that contribute to a better understanding of the reception of classical Spanish theater in both modern ad contemporary times.
