The Introduction explores the overcoming of rigid traditional historical periodisations, often regarded as arbitrary constraints that fragment the course of time. Reflecting on the movement of ideas and objects as dynamic processes of reciprocal transformation, the work adopts a global and diachronic approach with the aim of bringing the local micro-dimension into dialogue with global processes.
