Visualizing Wikidata: The RAWGraphs 2.0 Approach

Wikidata represents an incredible revolution in open knowledge curation, yet its complexity and structure often limit its visibility and use, particularly when it comes to data visualization. RAWGraphs 2.0 addresses this challenge by providing an intuitive, template-based approach for translating Wikidata’s SPARQL query outputs into meaningful visualizations. Drawing on data visualization literature, RAWGraphs employs visualization templates: conceptual and technical schemas that identify visual properties of graphical items and bind them to data. With direct SPARQL integration, RAWGraphs supports transparent, reproducible visual exploration, highlighting data quality, biases, and structural insights within Wikidata.
