Critical limb ischemia represents one of the most complex challenges in vascular surgery. The Florentine School has made significant contributions to basic research, the development of surgical and endovascular techniques, and pharmacological and cellular therapies, promoting a multidisciplinary approach aimed at limb salvage and improved patient prognosis.
