The chapter explores the Renaissance ideal city, from Thomas More's Utopia to Filarete's Sforzinda, showing how urban form became the privileged expression of a rational, just society. Architecture and city planning emerged as tools for imagining a better world, yet ideal cities ultimately served the interests of the few rather than realising universal utopian dreams.
