Europa: diritti dell’uomo o diritti umani?

  • Alessandra Viviani

The path to the establishment of the Council of Europe in the immediate post-World War II period and the adoption of the European Convention on Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms represent a crucial turning point in the construction of the European human rights area. Indeed, the European Convention remains the most advanced and effective instrument for the protection of rights at the supranational level. This essay explores a rarely considered aspect: the role and presence of women in the early stages of the creation of this complex legal system.
