This chapter reviews twenty-six titles from the corpus of the post-Cervantine short novel (from Juan Cortés de Tolosa’s Lazarillo de Manzanares [1620] to Mariana de Caravajal y Saavedra's Navidades de Madrid [1663]) which allow the application of the ecdotic method (often in alliance with typophilology). The tradition of each volume is examined here, with emphasis on the editions of the 20th-21st centuries and the need to collate not only the larger number of copies of the editiones principes, but also the large number of reprints. It also explores the mistakes and amendments made by the philologists who have proposed them.
