This paper provides an overview of the relationship between climate and private law from a remedial perspective, and of the questions that this relationship raises. First, it addresses the issue of remedies in relationships involving private individuals, by examining the topic through the lens of the issues raised by the new European rules on carbon offset certifications. Secondly, the paper examines the relationships between consumers and professionals, the relationships between businesses, and, finally, the role of liability rules in non-commercial relationships.
